Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus Join American Music Awards Lineup
Country besties Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus will perform on this year's American Music Awards (airing Nov. 21 on ABC), it was revealed during Wednesday's CMA Awards.
Kid Rock, whose new album, "Born Free," comes out Nov. 16, also joins the lineup, which includes previously announced acts P!nk, Usher, Ne-Yo, Diddy, Bon Jovi and Rihanna, who will open the show.

The eccentric singer Lady GaGa must be willing to be in fourth place because the income acquired 'only $ 64 million, accompanied by Madonna in fifth place with $ 59.9 million.

John Lennon's 70th celebrated in NY's Central Park
AP, Oct 9, 2010 6:56 pm PDT A crush of fans circled a flower-graced mosaic in Central Park's Strawberry Fields and sang lyrics from "Imagine" on Saturday to honor Beatles legend John Lennon on his 70th birthday. On the day when the Liverpool Lad would have become a septuagenarian, thousands of fans from around the world gathered to remember the floppy-haired British superstar who just wanted to give peace a chance.
"His music speaks to people of any nation, any age, and that's why I think so many young people now who never would have known him still find him so appealing," said Karen Kriendler Nelson, 69, who lives nearby and often visits the mosaic that spells out Lennon's song "Imagine."
She and her Maltese dog, Pino, joined a group of fans who sang the lines, "Imagine there's no countries/ It isn't hard to do/ Nothing to kill or die for/ And no religion too/ Imagine all the people/ Living life in peace ..."
Joan Acarin and his wife, Laia, visited the memorial from Spain.
"The values Lennon defended are still alive," said Joan Acarin, a 41-year-old attorney from Barcelona. "It's the idea that we do not have to fight wars."
Fans began arriving on Friday, spilling onto the sidewalk of Central Park West, where Lennon and wife Yoko Ono lived in the famed Dakota building for nine years. He was shot to death by a deranged gunman as he came home on the evening of Dec. 8, 1980.
Police erected barricades to contain the crowd alongside passing traffic.
This year, the memorial to the slain ex-Beatle and peace activist includes a mosaic donated by the city of Naples, Italy. A plaque lists 121 countries that endorse Strawberry Fields as a Garden of Peace.
The 2.5-acre site was created by Ono and named after the Lennon song, which also observes that "living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see."
The birthday celebration got started early Friday in his native England, where Google UK released a 32-second video "doodle" with an "Imagine" soundtrack. The interactive electronic art generates a butterfly and a flower — reflecting Lennon's devotion to world peace.
In Liverpool, Lennon's first wife, Cynthia and, their son, Julian, unveiled a sculpture to celebrate his life.
Hundreds of people gathered at the city center's Chavasse Park to watch the pair cut a ribbon to reveal the statue, called "Peace and Harmony." The sculpture, which features a colorful globe with doves flying above it, was designed by 19-year-old American artist Lauren Voiers.
The two held hands and joined the crowd in singing John Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance."
"I think the mourning is over for John. I think it's time to celebrate," said Cynthia, 71. "Think about his life that was positive and good and just enjoy that."
She was married to John Lennon from 1962 to 1968.
In New York, planned celebrations include a Saturday evening benefit concert at the Society For Ethical Culture, a short walk from Strawberry Fields. The proceeds will go to the human rights organization Amnesty International.
Capping the New York remembrances would be a Central Park screening of a documentary detailing Lennon's life in the city. Titled "LENNONYC," the new public television film to be shown at 7 p.m. in the park's Rumsey Playfield, with picnic-style seating on the ground.
Ono was set to mark her late husband's milestone birthday in Iceland with a performance by the Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band. She also was to present awards to people who had contributed to peace.

The late King of Pop’s estate has inked a deal with Sony Corp for $250 million and will release 10 albums between now and 2017.According to a report, there are enough new songs to fill up three new releases, and Jacko’s estate will also work on new packages of familiar material over the next seven years. MTV Video Music Award nominee and California Gurl Katy Perry has summed up the main reason why fans tune in to the madness every year: "The VMAs are always the best show to watch because anything can happen. And you know us musicians, we're psychos!"
They're also suckers for love. No one can deny that VMAs usually serves up plethora of onscreen antics but for Perry and comedian Russell Brand, the real can't-miss moments happened backstage. The duo are engaged and set to get hitched later this year, but it all began when they snagged each other's attention at the 2008 festivities. In the special "The VMAs: Revealed - Presented by New 5 React Gum," insiders uncover the beginning of their road to matrimony.
Many reports have pegged the start of the couple's relationship to their first encounter on the set of the comedy "Get Him to the Greek." But, more specifically, they met when "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" filmmaker Nick Stoller set up a shoot at the VMAs to score celeb cameos for his Aldous Snow spin-off.
"They wanted hot young female artists to be part of the movie," explained VMA producer Jane Mun. "So, Christina Aguilera was performing, they got her, Pink and Katy Perry." Perry and Brand filmed a lip-lock for the movie and while the scene stayed on the cutting-room floor, the chemistry between the two began to heat up.
"Katy Perry, Oh my god! I was so inspired by Katy Perry's song's message ['I Kissed a Girl'] that I'm currently going through nine Chapsticks a day and my penis has never felt more moisturized," Brand quipped after the singer performed in 2008. Perry definitely got the joke and laughed, "I love him!"
The only problem was that Perry was still entwined with Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy. But when Perry returned to the 2009 VMAs as a single lady, it was on. When it came to orchestrating a grand entrance for returning master of ceremonies Brand, VMA folks thought the pop star could play a key role.
"She's had a huge year," said show executive producer Dave Sirulnick. "So [we thought] let's ask Katy if she would sing [Queen's] 'We Will Rock You.' "

Many reports have pegged the start of the couple's relationship to their first encounter on the set of the comedy "Get Him to the Greek." But, more specifically, they met when "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" filmmaker Nick Stoller set up a shoot at the VMAs to score celeb cameos for his Aldous Snow spin-off.
"They wanted hot young female artists to be part of the movie," explained VMA producer Jane Mun. "So, Christina Aguilera was performing, they got her, Pink and Katy Perry." Perry and Brand filmed a lip-lock for the movie and while the scene stayed on the cutting-room floor, the chemistry between the two began to heat up.
"Katy Perry, Oh my god! I was so inspired by Katy Perry's song's message ['I Kissed a Girl'] that I'm currently going through nine Chapsticks a day and my penis has never felt more moisturized," Brand quipped after the singer performed in 2008. Perry definitely got the joke and laughed, "I love him!"
The only problem was that Perry was still entwined with Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy. But when Perry returned to the 2009 VMAs as a single lady, it was on. When it came to orchestrating a grand entrance for returning master of ceremonies Brand, VMA folks thought the pop star could play a key role.
"She's had a huge year," said show executive producer Dave Sirulnick. "So [we thought] let's ask Katy if she would sing [Queen's] 'We Will Rock You.' "
The pop diva apparently rocked more than just the stage, because after flirting their way through rehearsals, producers saw the British funnyman promising to call Perry later on.

Chris Brown, Tyga Planning Fan Of A Fan Tour Tyga explains success of 'Deuces' to Mixtape Daily: 'The people chose the record.'

Chris Brown is in the #1 film in the country, "Takers," and now that he's done with Hollywood (for now), he's going back to the lab.
"Me, I'm definitely writing on other people's projects. A lot of in-house stuff," Brown said recently in L.A. "I got a lot of artists coming out. The single 'Deuces' features one of my artists K-Mac and Tyga [from Young Money]. I'm pushing forward. The movie's out, so I'mma have fun.""Deuces" is in the top 30 of Billboard's Hot 100 charts and #1 on urban radio. The record's success is simply due to fan support. It's part of Brown and Tyga's Fan of a Fan mixtape and skyrocketed once the video hit virally and on MTV Jams.
"That was actually Chris' idea," Tyga told us about putting out a visual for the song. "I thought the record was dope. I thought it was dope for us to do that video. He got to explain his situation. It connects to his fans. His fans miss that from him.
"I think the people chose the record," Tyga added. "We put the mixtape out, and we asked them: What record do you like the most? They was like, 'Deuces.' It was always coming up. It was growing on YouTube as well, like 100,000 views a day on YouTube. It was his idea to shoot the video. My homie Colin Tilly, he's done all my videos. He's done everything. All my mixtape stuff to the bigger stuff I'm doing now. He got it right. It's what people wanna see, what they wanna hear."
Despite the overwhelming success of Fan of a Fan, Tyga said he and Chris aren't planning an official LP, but they are hitting the road together.
"I don't think you wanna drown people too much," Tyga said about making a full album with Brown. "We've been doing a lot of stuff, though. He's on my album. We're actually working on a tour right now. A Fan of Fan Tour at the end of the year. It'll be dope."
Tyga has an album coming out soon; it doesn't have a release date yet. But his next mixtape, Well Done, will hit within the next couple of weeks. It's going to be a Gangsta Grillz edition.
"I feel like I had to deal with [DJ] Drama. He reminded of Wayne, when he did Dedication with him," Tyga explained. "[Wayne] was going in on every beat. All the mixtapes I've been dropping, they're close to albums. They're more songs. They have more content. This one, I wanted to rap on everybody's beat and murder every beat that's out. It's fun to do that. It's easy. I can knock that out real fast. I think Drama is dope when you wanna link up and murder beats like that."

Leonardo DiCaprio 'attacker' to face trial
A woman accused of attacking Leonardo DiCaprio with a broken bottle at a Hollywood party in 2005 has been ordered to stand trial in Los Angeles.
Aretha Wilson, 40, faces one count of assault with a deadly weapon. Her lawyer said he expected the case to begin within 60 days.DiCaprio required a dozen stitches to his face and neck after the party.
The judge, who saw photographs of the star's injuries, said he did not consider them "trivial or moderate".
The photographs, showing cuts to the actor's ear and neck, have not been made public.
