Talk about lightening up! Both Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry eschewed their signature palettes, rock n' roll black and candy-colored hues, respectively, for heavenly pale frocks at the 2010 American Music Awards. Miley opted for a gorgeous Marchesa gown with intricately detailed ruching and strapless neckline. The short and sassy hemline in the front is offset perfectly with the regal train in the back, while Miley can't help but add a touch of her signature rocker style with an armful of bangles, loads of rings and dark nails. Katy ditched her quirky, candy-inspired look which has been de rigeur for the starlet over the past few months, for a soft, feminine Bagdley Mischka dress. Although, we have to say, the dress does remind us a bit of cotton candy. She keeps the rest of the look classic by opting for nude heels and sleek, retro waves.
